At Alex Bike Shop, we do our best to ensure a permanent variety of fantastic bikes are available for your rental enjoyment. We rent a selection of Conventional and Electric assist bikes for adults. Rent for just a couple hours or a whole day! Call to reserve a bike or just stop in! Contact Us

WHERE TO RIDE

Here in Alexandria, we have a wonderful 12 foot wide paved bike trail that travels over 100 miles long. The Central Lakes Bike trail is conveniently located only one block behind our bike shop! (see map bellow)

Rental FAQ's

What style of bikes do you rent?

We rent conventional pedal bikes and Electric bikes. Our rentals are upright comfort bikes that are designed to be ridden on paved surfaces only. We do not rent off-road bicycles.

Do you rent kids bikes or kids trailers?

We sell kids bikes and kids trailers, but we do not have kids bikes or kids trailers for rent. All bike rentals are for people over the age of 16.

Should I reserve a bike?

You can just walk in the day you wish to rent and see what's available. But if you want to ensure a rental is available for you on a particular day, then you can pay through the phone to reserve your bike. If you decide to cancel your rental, the money must be used for a different rental day or spent on other merchandise in the store. 

What timeframes can you rent?

Both conventional and electric bikes can be rented for either 2 hours or the business day. To see our business hours click here.

Do the bikes come with accessories?

Conventional bikes are rented as the bike only. No accessories are attached to the bike.

Electric bikes have fenders, front and rear light, and a rear rack.

How many bikes are available to rent?

Bike rentals can vary in quantity depending on the time of year. To see how many rentals are available, please contact us.

What is the cost to rent a bike?

Conventional bike:

2 Hours: $30

Business Day: $45

​

Electric bike:

2 Hours: $60

Business Day: $75

Can you rent for multiple days?

You may rent a bicycle for multiple days at the normal business day rate. Example: If you pick a rental up on a Monday, and return it on Tuesday, you will be charged for two business days no matter what time you pick the bike up or drop it off. 

Are helmets included with the rental?

All bike rentals come with a free helmet to use at no extra charge. 

What bike sizes do you rent?

All conventional bikes and electric bikes are a one size fits all frame. Most people at a height from 4' 11" to 6'5" should fit our rentals.
