At Alex Bike Shop, we strive to maintain a consistent selection of high-quality bikes available for rent. We offer both conventional and electric bike rentals for adults, with flexible options ranging from a couple of hours to a full day. Where to Ride
Alexandria is home to a beautiful, 12-foot-wide paved trail that stretches more than 100 miles — the Central Lakes Bike Trail. Even better, it’s located just one block behind our shop, making it incredibly convenient to start your ride the moment you rent your bike. (See map below.)
Rental FAQs
What styles of bikes do you rent?
We offer both conventional pedal bikes and electric bikes for rent. Our rental fleet consists of upright comfort bikes designed specifically for paved surfaces such as bike paths and roads. At this time, we do not offer off-road bikes for rent.
Should I reserve a bike?
You’re welcome to simply walk in on the day you wish to rent and choose from available bikes. However, if you want to guarantee a bike will be ready for you, we recommend reserving in advance. Reservations can be made over the phone or in person at our store.
What timeframes can you rent?
Both conventional and electric bikes are available for rental in three timeframes: 2 hours, full day, or 24 hours. To view our business hours, click here.
Do the bikes come with accessories?

Conventional Bikes: Rented as the bike only — no accessories are included.

Electric Bikes: Come equipped with fenders, front and rear lights, and a rear rack for added convenience.
How many bikes are available to rent?
The number of bikes available for rent can vary depending on the season. To check current availability, please contact us directly.
Do you rent kids’ bikes or kids’ trailers?
We offer kids’ bikes and kids’ trailers for purchase, but they are not available for rent. All bike rentals are reserved for riders 16 years of age and older.
What is the cost to rent a bike?
Conventional Bikes

Can you rent for multiple days, including Sunday?
Yes! You can rent a bike for multiple days using our 24-hour rental option. For example, if you pick up a bike at 3 p.m. on Saturday and return it at 3 p.m. on Monday, you will be charged for two 24-hour rentals. This is also the only way to rent a bike on a Sunday, as our shop is normally closed that day.
Are helmets included with the rental?
Yes! Every bike rental includes a free helmet for you to use at no additional charge.
What bike sizes do you rent?
All of our conventional and electric rental bikes feature a one-size-fits-all frame. They are designed to comfortably accommodate riders with heights ranging from approximately 4'10" to 6'3".
